SUMMER HEAT WAVE CONTINUES AT WACHOVIA CENTER WITH THREE “HOT” CONCERTS IN FIVE DAYS FROM JULY 25 THROUGH JULY 29, COLDPLAY, GEORGE MICHAEL, AND THE POLICE SET TO ROCK PHILADELPHIA

Philadelphia will feel another five-day heat wave at the Wachovia Center as three hot concerts – Coldplay, George Michael, and the Police - are set to rock the stage from Friday, July 25 through Tuesday, July 29.

Coldplay will bring their “Viva La Vida” tour to the Wachovia Center on Friday, July 25; George Michael performs live on Saturday, July 26; and the Police make their long-awaited return on Tuesday, July 29.

Coldplay’s newest album, “Viva La Vida,” was released by Capitol Music Group on June 17. Produced by Brian Eno and Markus Dravs, the record has topped the charts in 36 countries around the world. This is a rescheduled date from earlier in June. All tickets from the original date will be honored.

Michael brings his long awaited “25 Live” Tour to the Wachovia Center after performing for a staggering 1.3 million fans this year alone. He has enjoyed one of the most successful and enduring careers in the history of pop music, selling more than 85 million records globally and encompassing seven US No. 1 singles, two Grammy awards, three American Music Awards, an MTV Video Music Award and two prestigious Ivor Novello awards for songwriting. His record "Faith" has sold over 20 million copies alone. In addition, Michael has garnered 11 British No. 1 singles and seven British No. 1 albums. He recently was declared the most played British artist on radio over the course of the last 20 years.

The Police, who have not played indoors in Philadelphia since January 18, 1982 at the Spectrum, are bringing special guest Elvis Costello with them to the Wachovia Center on Tuesday, July 29. This is a rescheduled date from earlier in November. All tickets from the original date will be honored.
